1. What months are the landfill open for Summer hours? Winter hours

Summer Hours: May 1st- Oct. 31st
Winter Hours: Nov. 1st - April 30th

2. Why do I need to fill out a water service change form everytime I move?

So we have the most up-to-date information. Also, if you were set-up as a renter before and we collected a $75 deposit, we can apply it to your account if you are buying.

3. Why do I need to move my vehicles off of city streets by November 1st? Why keep them off?

By City Ordinance, vehicles are not supposed to be left on City Streets more than 48 hours. By keeping your vehicle off helps speed up snow removal.

4. Does The City of Beach have any other utility services besides water?

Yes. To be able to have water service turned on, sewer services need to be available also. We also include garbage on the water bills we send out.

5. How is my water meter read?

Water meters are read by radio frequency. This way a city employee does not have to come into your house every month. The frequency isn't very different then your cell phone.

6. Who needs to register at City Hall if they want to sell any products or services in the City of Beach?

All companies selling products or services door-to-door are classified as a "Transient Merchant" (ex. selling vacuum cleaners, security systems, tree services, & etc.), & all transient merchants must register with the City. If you are not sure who is a transient merchant please call City Hall for more info.872-4103.

7. Does The City of Beach have a leash law?

Yes! You may have your pet licensed at City Hall-this is different than a rabies vaccination tag. You will need to bring a copy of your pets' rabies vaccination record. The City offers Free pet licensing usually the first week of April or whenever City Government week is scheduled.Ordinance 13.0105 STRAYS: It shall be unlawful to permit any animals to run at large in the city; any such animal running at large in any public place in the city can be impounded.Also, see Ordinance Book in Helpful Links on the bottom of any page.

8. Are chickens allowed in City Limits?

Yes & no. Fowl is not permitted in city limits unless (always) kept within an enclosure. These fowl cannot become a nuisance (noise or odor-wize) to any persons within their vicinity. 9. What do I need to do/know before I build a fence?

The height restriction of a fence, street side is 4 ft. Height restriction for Residential is 6.5 ft. See Ordinance 383 for more information.
Also, stop by City Hall to have your Property Pins located or at least to see how big your lot is. The City is not liable for a dispute about lot lines.

10. What responsibilities do I have as a property owner during the summer months? During the winter months?

During the summer property owners are responsible for keeping their lots mowed. See Ordinance Chapter 12, Section 1 for more information.
During the winter months property owners are responsible for keeping sidewalks clear of snow & ice. See Ordinance 3.0208.
